వెండి , పంచలోహాలు లేదా మట్టి ప్రమిదల్లో దీపం వెలిగించి భగవంతుని వైపుకి ఉంచాలి . రెండు వత్తులు ఖచ్చితంగా ఉండాలి . ఏకవత్తి వెలిగించరాదు . అలా వెలిగించటము మహా దోషము . ఓసారి పూజకు వినియోగించిన కుందిని మళ్ళీ వాడరాదు . మహాశివునికి ఎడమవైపూ , విష్ణువుకి కుడి వైపు దీపాన్ని ఉంచాలి . ఎదురుగా ఉంచరాదు . నిత్య దీపారాధన చేసే వారికి మంచి భర్త లభిస్తాడు . స్త్రీలు సుమంగుళులుగా ఉంటారు . సంతాన వంతులవుతారు . దీపారాధనంటే జగన్మాతని కూడా ఆరాధించటమే .
